About Us

TaxiRoute.co.uk is aimed at being a simple to use online taxi calculator that provides accurate taxi estimates.

TaxiRoute has been online since 2007 but in 2009 has had a major upgrade and overhaul to simplify and strengthen the system.

Our systems use the latest mapping software combined with up to date Local Authority Tariffs. This combination enables us to provide the most accurate estimates of fare charges of any online Taxi Fare Calculator.

Our servers and databases are hosted with the FastHosts and guarantee 99.9% uptime.

What happens then?

TaxiRoute calculates what the fare should cost based on the Local Authority Hackney Carriage Tariff.

TaxiRoute will then tell you a price, the mileage, the time as well as giving you a map, the shortest directions and a suggested taxi company.

How:

TaxiRoute uses the latest mapping and route cost information to try and give users the quickest, most accurate estimate of what a passenger should pay for a taxi cab fare.

At the moment, our system uses Microsoft MapPoint combined with the official Hackney Carriage Fare Tariffs for the UK.

The UK has well over 200 "Local Authorities" who have resonsibility for these tariffs. TaxiRoute will use these official figures combined with the mapping software and tariff database to give you our best estimate of what the taxi should cost.

TaxiRoute.co.uk was born out of the frustration of not knowing roughly what a taxi cab fare will cost before you have to pay.
